We are excited about our new camera that arrived last Friday. The 5D Mark iii is not only known for it’s beautiful photographs, but many videographers use it for events such as weddings. The small and compact size make it perfect for moving around crowded areas and travelling with a smaller tripod or monopod.

The 5D Mark iii is known for shooting beautiful video in low light situations, which often happens at receptions at most weddings. We have tested it out over the weekend and we are ecstatic about it. The issues we’ve had in the past with noise in low light has been completely eliminated. This also helps us capture more moments at a wedding instead of having to lug around clunky lighting equipment that takes time to set up.

The 5D Mark iii is a big investment but we have a hunch that our clients are going to love having their day filmed with one of the most sought after camera’s on the planet. This is just another reason to put on the list as to why you will want Memorywalk filming your wedding day!

We were asked by members of the military to film the opening of the park. It was a beautiful morning and was filled with tons of people showing their support. StillMotion has an app called SMAPP. It features tutorials of the many different aspects of videography, from tips on lighting, what gear to buy, how to shoot based on mood, the list goes on. I actually received a tweet earlier this week from them regarding an update to their app;

If you are a past Memorywalk web design client or are looking for web design services, not to worry. Valley Marketing was born this week as well. The reason for the separation between wedding videography and web design was because the names were a bit confusing. Memorywalk didn’t really ring web design, so that part of the business has been separated to Valley Marketing.

Now that all the technical stuff is out of the way, its time to start filming! Our first project of the summer is this Saturday and we can hardly wait. We do still have spots open for 2013/2014 so get your wedding booked today!

Memorywalk is excited to announce its new partnership with the Lily Lake Pavilion. The Pavilion has been a staple in the Saint John community for many years. It’s known for its hospitality, it’s beautiful location, the lily lake cafe, and of course weddings! Memorywalk is taking its modern wedding videography to the Pavilion to offer a one of a kind service in the greater Saint John area.

We are so excited about our newest piece of equipement that we decided to write a blog post about it! The Zoom H4n is a portable recorder that enables us to capture many of our clients big moments in extremely high quality audio. When trying to capture speeches, music, sounds, and just about anything throughout a wedding day, its very difficult to capture pro quality audio from a mic built into a videocamera or in our case DSLR. The Zoom H4n changes everything and will definitely be a big boost in the overall quality of our Memorywalk wedding videos.

The H4n can record at 24-bit/96-kHz, which is better than CD quality! It has great on-board mics, but we have purchased a lav mic which will boost the quality of speeches to an entire new level.

We are excited about the 2013 wedding season and we will post new videos throughout the summer to show off how amazing the Zoom H4n can capture these amazing moments on the big day.

It was our pleasure to do the videography for Josh & Kate’s wedding this August. Weddings can often be a stressful time when they should always be an exciting and joyful celebration, and that’s what Josh and Kate did. It was a fun wedding to be at and I’m sure they will enjoy this keepsake 25 years down the road when they look back at one of the best days of their lives.

I am a big fan of Hemmings House and the work they do. They consistently produce beautiful high end videos and the new TV commercial for Saint John didn’t disappoint one bit. If you’re a local Saint John resident like myself you may have seen the new Saint John commercial while watching the local news. I’ve posted it below if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet.

You may ask why I would post work from a competitor, and my simple answer is this, if great work is achieved it should be complimented and shared throughout the community. Hemmings House does larger productions live TV commercials, and Memorywalk is a small 1 man show that produces much smaller events like weddings, remembrance videos, and marketing videos for your website. If anyone inquires about a larger production we recommend Hemmings House in a heartbeat.
