Memorywalk Video Productions has grown considerably in the past 365 days. This time last year, expectations and goals were simply to get better at telling the story I was capturing and to of course film a few more weddings. It was a year full of magical moments and one I couldn’t feel more blessed from at a professional level. After the strong response and feedback, and numerous amounts of inquiries for 2015 I’ve really had to sit down with my wife and make some tough decisions. I currently hold a management position for an IT company during the day, and let’s be honest, there’s only so many hours in a day, week, month, and so on. When you add on a 2nd career, which I believe can only be done if you don’t have kids or if only 1 of the two parents work while the other raises their kids at home, then time becomes precious. Everyone needs family time and balance to live a healthy and happy life.
With all that said, it leads to my decision to limit 2015 to 10 weddings. Yikes! This means there may be some unhappy brides and grooms! Well, there are a few spots left for 2015, so the anthem of “book early” really applies more than ever in Memorywalk’s case this year. What people need to understand is that filming a wedding is not just one long 12+ hour workday. It really takes most of the time sitting behind a computer, encoding, reviewing, colouring, editing, cutting, and producing the end product. If you thought editing a photograph took time, just imagine how much time it takes someone to edit a film, the right way. Even though the end product is not long, it ends up being a mini movie of your day. To make it to the high level I demand at Memorywalk Video Productions, it simply just takes more time. I simply will not settle for anything less.
So, 10 weddings it is. 10 weddings that I will get to completely dedicate my time to. 10 weddings that I am looking forward to pouring my heart and soul into. 10 weddings that will be truly remembered in 2015.
