When the Nord-Est school district contacted me about creating a short film about social inclusion in their schools and community I jumped at the opportunity. I pesronally grew up around people with disabilities, whether mental or physical, and I first hand know how important it is for those people to be and feel included.

I was already going to be in the northern part of the province filming an event for ParaNB, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I got to meet Jeremié who is the gentleman featured in the film below. What a success story and fantastic human being. He and his friends are down to earth and friendly people that have a sincere and genuine message. Everyone, no matter what differences they have, should be included and be part of the community. This project is destined to change lives and the organizers of the INSO project have their heart and goals in the right place. Everyone involved in this project was a treat to work with.

This was my first time visiting many parts of north east New Brunswick. I filmed many different schools within the district, scenery, city signs, and more along the way. It was my first time bringing my gear onto a hockey rink but preparing ahead of time really made a big difference. I am very proud to have been a part of this project and I hope I can be involved in helping spread more positive change in New Brunswick in the future.
